MY RECOVERY =
REBUILDING MY LIFE
Recovery is more than regaining physical health. My life changed in such a profound way due to illness that there is more to fix than physiological balance.
I have to create a whole new life from scratch. Besides rebuilding physical strength, I have to heal and rebuild a social life, a career, a home. I have to heal mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. In short: I have to heal and redefine every single part of my life.
MY 31st BIRTHDAY MARKS THE BEGINNING OF MY SICK-YEARS
My story started on September 10th, 2013 – my 31st birthday. That day marks a turning point of my life, from that day on everything should change: that day was the first day of my sick-years.
Since that day I have had only one goal: regaining my health. Today, after walking through hell several times as well as hitting rock-bottom on a regular basis; I have almost arrived: I have almost fully recovered.
I REGAINED 90% OF MY PHYSICAL HEALTH SO FAR
SHARING MY STORY IS PART OF MY RECOVERY
Writing about my experiences eases my mind and my heart. It helps me to reflect and process, to understand, and to articulate my inner struggles so that my mind can become calmer and calmer to finally heal, too.
AND I want to spread hope. I want to show that ME/CFS is NOT the end, that there is light even in the darkest hour, and that the impossible IS possible.
That is why I am already working on a website to share my recovery story in detail.
See you soon!
Much love, Nadine
I am going to share my whole recovery story from ME/CFS in detail soon!
My healing journey started 4.5 years ago. I haven’t found that one magic pill or cure that heals everyone within 2 weeks. It took a million steps forward, backward, and even more detours to get where I am today. I have done sooo many different things. Accordingly, it takes a while to look back on my journey and to write it down in a useful way.
